Reading

Bishop's Castle Primary School understands the importance of reading in the process of developing pupils into independent learners. Reading is central to our ability to understand, interpret and communicate with one another: pupils who read on a regular basis, in school and at home, have a higher chance of fulfilling their potential.

It is essential that, by the end of their primary education, all pupils are able to read fluently, and with confidence. We aim to instil a passion for reading in pupils, which they will carry on into subsequent education and their later life.
