Get In Touch

Welcome back

Dear Parents/Carers

We are delighted to welcome the children back to school today, ready for a new school year.

We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you:

Miss Katie Froggatt –

Head of School

Mrs Kate Mather –

Executive Headteacher

We would like to invite you to come along and meet us on Monday 26th September 2022 at 3:30pm in the school hall. We are hoping this will be an opportunity to meet everyone and for you to ask any questions you may have.

If you have any queries in the meantime, Miss Froggatt is onsite every day. Please either telephone or speak to her on the gate in the mornings.

Class Dojo

In order to further improve communication between school and home, we will be introducing Class Dojo. It is similar to a Facebook page but will be only be visible to other parents/carers within our school community, making it a more secure way of communicating. This means that we will be able to post more updates and photographs of what we are up to in school.

We will also be using it to post letters and information/reminders about upcoming events and trips.

It is also a communication tool where you can send short messages to class teachers.

Because we are using this communication tool so widely, we thought it would be a good idea to set out some guidelines for use:

Reporting absences and urgent messages:

We cannot guarantee that teachers will have the opportunity to check Dojo at certain times so please do not use the Dojo to report child absences from school.  The procedure should always be to telephone the school office and leave a message.

Similarly, if your child has different collection arrangements after school, please telephone the office.

Availability of staff

Teachers will endeavour to respond to a Dojo message within 24 hours of receiving it but all staff have their Class Dojo apps set to “Quiet hours” which means they will not receive messages after 5.00pm or before 8.00am and not at all at weekends.

Your child should have brought home a slip of paper with relevant log in details. You simply just need to download the app and follow the instructions on the piece of paper.

We would like everyone to sign up to Class Dojo, if possible, as it will be used as our primary means of communication. Both Mrs Mather & Miss Froggatt have used it at their previous schools and have found it an extremely useful and positive way of communicating with parents.

We are both excited to be working at Bishops Castle Primary School and look forward to meeting you all properly soon.

Kind regards,

Mrs Mather and Miss Froggatt
